What: Communication Equipment
Risk: You change lift maintenance provider and the new provider charges you for equipment just to connect the phone line.
How does this happen: Some lift companies have their own communication equipment, so if the company changes the new company can’t connect the phone line to their system. This means if someone is stuck in a lift they can’t call the lift provider for assistance.
Solution: Have your lift installed with an eMfone system. This is a generic system any lift company can use. If a provider wants to install their owner, make sure they will replace it with an eMfone system when they leave.
When: This is best implemented when renewing a lift maintenance contract.
